The Pittsburgh Steelers were established in 1933 (and at that time were named the Pirates), making them the oldest and most championed franchise in the AFC. They are one of only 3 teams to have won the Super Bowl 5 times. The team was renamed the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1940. The current owner is Dan Rooney, and the team is led by head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers play their home games at Heinz Field. Since 1970, they have reached the playoffs 22 times, winning their division 17 times. They have also played in 13 AFC Championship games. This season the Steelers lost 10 year lineman Alan Faneca to the NY Jets. They also signed quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to an 8 year, $102 million contract, which is the largest in franchise history.
